About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of HR to join a thriving national retail business in the Midlands. This is a unique opportunity to shape the people strategy and directly impact business success by partnering with senior leaders across the organisation. The role offers hybrid working, blending remote work with on-site presence, and requires regional travel to multiple sites to ensure strong, consistent HR support across the business.
- Strategic Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with executive leaders to provide strategic HR insights that drive business outcomes.
- Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy: Lead the talent agenda by developing and implementing strategic workforce planning (SWFP) practices that support scalable growth across the organisation.
- Strategic Decision Influence: Play a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Team Leadership & Development: Inspire, mobilise, and develop a high-performing HR team to execute on the people strategy and drive impactful results.
- Collaboration with Centres of Expertise: Work with HR specialists in areas such as learning & development, compensation, and recruitment to implement a cohesive people strategy.
- Trusted Adviser & Coach: Serve as a key adviser to senior leaders, offering guidance and coaching on leadership and talent management.
- Regional Support: Provide hands-on HR leadership across multiple sites within the region, ensuring alignment of HR practices with the overall business strategy.
- Stakeholder Influence & Management: Strong ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic Execution: Proven capability to translate high-level business and HR strategies into effective, actionable plans.
- Workforce Planning & Talent Management: Solid experience in strategic workforce planning, talent management, and leadership development.
- Commercial Acumen: Highly commercial mindset with demonstrated experience supporting large-scale organisational change, including scale-up, growth, and M&A.
- Flexible and Willing to Travel: Willingness to undertake regular regional travel to provide consistent support to various business sites.
